What is a Magnesium Swimming Pool?

A magnesium swimming pool is a type of mineral pool that uses magnesium-rich minerals as part of its water treatment system. Unlike a traditional saltwater pool, a magnesium pool uses magnesium-rich minerals alongside sanitation and filtration technology to create mineral-rich pool water.

Magnesium is naturally found in seawater and is particularly abundant in the minerals of the Dead Sea, making Dead Sea minerals a popular choice for mineral pool systems.

How Does a Magnesium Pool Work?

A magnesium pool combines mineral-rich water with a pool sanitation system. Depending on the system, this can include a chlorinator, ozone purification and filtration.

For example, Mineral Swim™ combines 100% Dead Sea Minerals with ozone-to-oxygen purification technology and a chlorinator. The system is designed to provide mineral-rich water while helping reduce chlorine demand.

Is a Magnesium Pool the Same as a Saltwater Pool?

Can You Convert an Existing Pool to a Magnesium Pool?

In many cases, an existing swimming pool can be converted to a mineral pool by upgrading its water-treatment system.
